Rise Above

We've created this club because we love the sport of wrestling and we want to make it inclusive of everyone; regardless, of social status, age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. We not only want to include those from these previously discriminated against groups but make sure that they are fully involved in all aspects of the club as many times the barriers to social inclusion are not being able to see others like ourselves in positions we dream to be in. We aim to change that. That being said the only groups we don't welcome will be those with bad attitudes or bigoted behaviors towards others. We aim to change those attitudes because everyone deserves to have a safe space to enjoy the sport they love with like minded individuals.

Our Story

A little bit about our coaches and why we created this club.

Travis, the founder of the club, started wrestling at the age of 39 and loved it immediately and has wrestled every chance he has gotten since that time. His goal in making this club was to make it inclusive so that everyone who tried wrestling would be able to experience the love for the sport in the same way he has. Chedli, our other founder and head coach, is a high level international wrestler as he has won gold in the 57 and 61kg weight categories at the African Championships, Mediterranean Championships and silver at the PanAfrican Games and won many more medals at other competitions. Travis and Chedli work well together and compliment each others strengths and weaknesses to create a well rounded club. In March 2026, coach Ben took over the lead role as the founders moved internationally. Ben continiues this same tradition of creating an inclusive club where everyone is welcome that fosters learning about wrestling from beginners all the way to the highest levels.
